Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completed a Commerce or Business degree with a concentration in Accounting
Experience: Candidates should have three years of current, progressive financial accounting and reporting experience
Physical Requirements:

The candidates should be willing to travel occasionally to various communities throughout the north
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be actively pursuing and currently enrolled in the Canadian CPA designation program with advanced standing
- The candidates should have including the preparation of consolidated and non-consolidated financial statements
- The candidates should have hands-on experience using CaseWare and CaseView, the industry-standard working paper and reporting software
- The candidates should have strong knowledge of accounting theory, PSAS recommendations, and guidelines (financial reporting standards for the public sector)
- The candidates should be proficient in computerized Accounting Management systems and proven experience in preparing consolidated and non-consolidated financial statements
- The candidates should possess advanced computer skills, including in-depth knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- The candidates should have basic knowledge of various accounting software packages, strong experience with Caseware and Caseview software and knowledge of IDEA Software
- The candidates should demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others and excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to assist with the preparation, integrity, and accuracy of the annual report, consolidated, and non-consolidated financial statements of the Northwest Territories Housing Corporation (NWTHC)
- The candidates should be able to collaborate with five (5) District controllers and 24 LHO managers to ensure the timely reconciliation and reporting of NWTHC consolidated and non-consolidated financial statements
- The candidates should be able to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data through diligent reporting and coordination with various teams
- The candidates should be able to support the preparation of other financial reports, assisting in the effective communication of financial information
- The candidates should be able to work in a deadline-driven environment, ensuring financial reporting processes are completed efficiently and on time
- The candidates should be able to maintain a high level of professionalism while assisting in financial reporting and accounting tasks
