Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a master’s degree in counselling and psychology
Experience: Candidates should have three years of experience in program administration support, mental health initiatives, and professional communication

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a theoretical understanding of research related to Learning Disabilities and ADHD and professional training in student transitioning documentation, such as IEP and IPRC
  • The candidates should possess theoretical knowledge and experience in program coordination and evaluation
  • The candidates should have knowledge of adult learning issues and program development for at-risk students
  • The candidates should have experience in designing and facilitating workshops and interpret psycho-educational assessments and administer educational tests
  • The candidates should have experience and knowledge in supporting newly diagnosed disabilities, including referrals and registration
  • The candidates should understand Human Rights Legislation, AODA, and institutional obligations
  • The candidates should have in-depth problem-solving and forward-thinking skills and maintain positive relationships and resolve conflicts effectively
  • The candidates should be adept at identifying unique student needs while upholding university policies
  • The candidates should possess professionalism, empathy, knowledge of disabilities, and administrative ability and experience in referral and follow-up support for students with mental health issues
  • The candidates should have experience overseeing student retention interventions and registered psychotherapist in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to report to the FITA Assistant Manager and support a caseload of clients while performing psychometric test administration
  • The candidates should be able to provide quality client care and professionally represent the FITA program and train student staff and counseling interns
  • The candidates should be able to conduct mental health and academic counseling and psychotherapy, as well as deliver workshops on positive psychology
  • The candidates should be able to responsible for coordinating information on the FITA website and providing excellent customer service
