Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a High School Diploma
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should work independently with limited supervision while performing duties throughout the campus, including outdoor property
  • The candidates should have the ability to operate all power and hand tools and equipment found in a standard furniture maintenance shop, including but not limited to hand drill, screwdrivers, impact gun, ratchets, and box wrenches

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should maintain cooperative working relationships with faculty, staff, and students
  • The candidates should have strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • The candidates should have the ability to follow through and carry out assignments and knowledge of FMP policies and procedures
  • The candidates should have the ability to effectively work individually and as part of a team of diverse groups
  • The candidates should have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers
  • The candidates should have a working knowledge of computers or Facilities Management and Planning’s Computerized Maintenance Management System will be an asset
  • The candidates should have the ability to read and write English and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • The candidates should have an Ontario Driving License will be an asset

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to load and unload the truck and follow all health and safety guidelines
  • The candidates should be able to install furniture and complete tasks in a neat and clean manner
  • The candidates should be able to relocate and deliver furniture, equipment, and goods and maintain furniture
  • The candidates should be able to inspect public areas according to work instructions and set up events
  • The candidates should be able to work under the supervision of the Manager, Grounds and Moving Services
