Salary: $16.95 hourly for 30 to 60 hours per week
Employment Type: Term or contract (ending: 2024-12-31) Full time
Location: Pitt Meadows, BC
Work setting: Staff accommodation available, Staff accommodation provided, and Remote location
Type of crops: Blueberries and Field berries

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to perform brush collecting and clean crops
  • The candidates should be able to clip plants, deleaf plants, and train fruit trees
  • The candidates should be able to grade produce, hoe crops, and mix fertilizer
  • The candidates should be able to pick row and orchard crops, plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops, and implement soil fertility programs
  • The candidates should be able to tie plants, weed fields, and maintain a clean work area
  • The candidates should be able to fertilize and spray crops, sort and pack fruits and vegetables, and harvest crops
  • The candidates should be able to load, unload, and transfer crates, supplies, farm produce, livestock, and poultry, and operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
  • The candidates should be able to perform apiary work, detect diseases and health problems in crops, livestock, and poultry, and examine produce for quality and prepare it for the market
  • The candidates should be able to set and monitor water lines, air flow, and temperature in barns, pens, and chicken coops
