Salary: $15.00 hourly for 55 hours per week
Employment Type: Term or contract Full time
Location: Spruce Grove, AB
Shifts: Day, Early Morning, 07:00 to 18:00
Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be comfortable with beef cattle ranching and farming, including feedlots, and chicken farming
- The candidates should be familiar with hay farming and comfortable with hog and pig farming
- The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors and in hot environments
- The candidates should be comfortable with strong odors and working with livestock
- The candidates should be physically capable of handling demanding tasks, performing repetitive tasks, and handling heavy loads
- The candidates should be able to adapt to a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and manage a large workload
- The candidates should have good hand-eye coordination and be willing to work overtime when required
- The candidates should be comfortable standing and walking for extended periods, and capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling as needed
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have excellent oral communication skills, reliability, and be quick learners
Candidate Status:
- Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
- International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to handle animals, monitor animal health, and perform animal grooming activities
- The candidates should be able to track and report on current feed inventory, feed, and tend to animals
- The candidates should be able to perform general farm duties
