Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Equipment and machinery experience: Carrot seeder, Onion seeder, Onion transplanter, Planting equipment, Tillage equipment, Tractor
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be experienced in other vegetables and melon farming (except potato) and be prepared to work outdoors, in or on water, at heights, and in confined spaces
- The candidates should be capable of working in wet/damp environments, handling dangerous conditions, and working in noisy settings, dusty environments, hot conditions, and cold/refrigerated environments
- The candidates should also be willing to tolerate odorous working conditions
- The candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, work effectively under pressure, and meet tight deadlines
- The candidates should be prepared for repetitive tasks, capable of handling heavy loads, and physically fit for the demands of the role
- The candidates should have a strong attention to detail, good hand-eye coordination, and the ability to distinguish between colors
- The candidates should have sound discrimination skills, be comfortable with sitting for extended periods, and prepared for a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
- The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods, capable of walking as part of their duties, and perform bending, crouching, and kneeling tasks
- The candidates should be willing to work overtime when required.
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have efficient interpersonal skills, possess good judgment, and be highly organized
- The candidates should demonstrate flexibility in their work and be strong team players
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to perform grading of crops, hand harvest vegetables, hoe crops, and plant, cultivate, irrigate crops
- The candidates should be able to perform stone and/or wood picking tasks, cull vegetables, engage in weeding activities, and harvest crops
- The candidates should also be able to operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, as well as examine produce for quality and prepare it for the market
