Job Description:

Salary: $17.00 hourly for 40 to 60 hours per week
Employment Type: Seasonal employment Full time
Location: 2200 Bear Hill Road Saanichton, BC V8M 1X7
Work setting: Staff accommodation available and Rural area
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be comfortable with repetitive tasks in fruit and vegetable combination farming and capable of handling heavy loads, as the position may involve lifting up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
- The candidates should be physically fit and able to work in a physically demanding role
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to grade, hand-harvest vegetables, plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops
- The candidates should be able to perform weeding, harvest crops, and operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
- The candidates should be able to sort and pack fruits and vegetables, perform general farm duties, and load, unload, and transfer crates, supplies, and farm produce, livestock, and poultry
- The candidates should be able to ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
