Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need any degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Type of industry experience: Tobacco
Equipment and machinery experience: Combine harvester, farm truck, fertilizer applicator, lift truck, loader, manure spreader, planting equipment, sprayer or duster, and tractor
Automated systems experience: Automated irrigation system
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have experience in other miscellaneous crop farming and be comfortable working outdoors
- The candidates should be able to work in wet/damp conditions and noisy environments.
- The candidates should be comfortable working in dusty conditions and able to work in hot conditions
- The candidates should be able to work in cold/refrigerated environments
- The candidates should excel in a fast-paced environment, handling tasks efficiently and adeptly working under pressure, maintaining composure and productivity
- The candidates should be capable of handling tight deadlines, ensuring timely completion of assignments, and proficient in handling repetitive tasks with precision and consistency
- The candidates should be capable of handling heavy loads with precision and care, physically fit to manage the demands of a physically demanding job, and demonstrate attention to detail in their work
- The candidates should be capable of standing for extended periods, comfortable with walking as part of their job responsibilities, and able to perform tasks that involve bending, crouching, and kneeling as required for the job
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be organized, and be team players
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to perform grading tasks and clean greenhouses
- The candidates should be able to plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops, perform suckering in agricultural processes, and conduct weeding activities
- The candidates should be able to harvest crops and operate/maintain farm machinery and equipment
