Salary: $15.50 hourly for 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Full time, Permanent employment
Location: 2961 Talbot Street, Wheatley, ON, N0P 2P0 and Erie Beach, ON, N0P 1H0
Work setting: Rural area and remote location
Work site environment: Candidates should work in other vegetables and melon farming (except potato), at heights, confined spaces, wet/damp, odours, hot, cold/refrigerated and non-smoking area
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications such as a high school, bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Type of crops: Bell peppers and Greenhouse vegetables
Type of product: Hydroponic horticultural products
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to work overtime, in fast-paced environment, perform repetitive tasks, handle heavy loads, pay attention to detail, stand for extended periods and also for bending, crouching, kneeling and large workload
- The candidate should be physically strong and also have hand-eye co-ordination
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able for deleafing, grading, greenhouse cleaning, hand harvesting vegetables, mixing fertilizer and also vegetable culling
- The candidate should be able to clean crop, plant, cultivate and irrigate crops, fertilize and spray crops and also harvest crops
- The candidate should be able to operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, detect disease and health problems in crops, livestock and poultry, examine produce for quality and prepare for market and also assist in pruning trees, shrubs and plants
