Salary: $17.00 hourly for 20 to 30 hours per week
Employment Type: Term or contract Part time leading to full time
Location: North York, ON
Shifts: Day, Evening, Weekend, On Call, Flexible Hours, To be determined, Early Morning, 02:00 to 07:00
Transportation information: Own transportation, travel expenses not paid by employer, willing to travel, and willing to travel regularly
Work setting: Employer’s home

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months
Experience with special needs children: Autistic children, children with epilepsy, children with asthma, and children with learning disabilities
Credentials: Emergency child care first aid and CPR, and First Aid Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be willing to work overtime when required and able to handle physically demanding tasks
• The candidates should be comfortable with repetitive tasks and able to work under pressure
• The candidates should demonstrate attention to detail and be proficient in weight handling, up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should prioritize client focus, exhibit flexibility, and show initiative
• The candidates should have excellent oral communication skills, be organized, and be reliable
• The candidates should have strong time management skills, demonstrate patience, and demonstrate honesty

Candidate Status:

• Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
• International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to change diapers, follow parents’ lead with toilet training, and assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents
• The candidates should be able to perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, shop for food and household supplies, and travel with family on trips to assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties
• The candidates should be able to wash, iron, and press clothing and household linens, bathe, dress, and feed infants and children, and discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents
• The candidates should be able to instruct children in personal hygiene and social development, keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children, and maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
• The candidates should be able to organize activities such as games and outings for children, prepare and serve nutritious meals, and supervise and care for children
• The candidates should be able to take children to and from school and to appointments, tend to the emotional well-being of children, and help children with homework
• The candidates should be able to cook and assist clients/guests with special needs
