Salary: $16.00 to $25.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 40 hours per week

Work setting: Private company, corporation or industry, and Private practice
Supervision: 3-4 people

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 3 to less than 5 years
Computer and technology knowledge: MS Access, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Windows, and MS Word
Credentials: Membership in the Canadian Bar Association and Membership in a provincial or territorial law society
Security and safety: Bondable, Criminal record check, Confidential security clearance, Basic security clearance, and Enhanced reliability security clearance

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, meet tight deadlines, and handle a large workload while demonstrating attention to detail
  • The candidates should be capable of working under pressure and managing a large caseload effectively

  • The candidates should be accurate and demonstrate dependability in their work
  • The candidates should have client focus, possess efficient interpersonal skills, and demonstrate flexibility

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to advise clients of their legal rights and all matters related to law, including drawing up legal documents and preparing statements of legal opinion
  • The candidates should be able to plead clients’ cases before courts of law, tribunals, and boards, and represent the interests of corporations/employers in business-related legal matters
  • The candidates should be able to recruit and hire staff, supervise professional, para-legal, and support staff, as well as articling students, and conduct research on legal precedents and gather evidence
