Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a High School diploma
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of five years’ experience in the trade
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be team players and be available to work a variety of day shifts, weekends, and holidays
- The candidates should be willing and able to travel and be eligible to work in the country of interest at the time of any offer, including obtaining necessary work permits or visas
- The candidates should be able to obtain and maintain applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations required for the work location, as specified by Transport Canada
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess a valid License C and hold an Industrial Electrician Interprovincial Red Seal
- The candidates should have experience working with DC/AC power and successfully pass the pre-employment qualifying exam
- The candidates should demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills
- The candidates should maintain a customer-focused attitude in demanding, high-stress environments
- The candidates should meet Air Canada medical standards and pass a medical evaluation, including a drug and alcohol test
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to perform preventative maintenance and address repair requests using the Facilities work order system
- The candidates should be able to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment, industrial equipment, and associated electrical and electronic controls
- The candidates should be able to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and adhere to the Canadian national electrical code
- The candidates should be able to test electrical and electronic equipment and components for serviceability
- The candidates should be able to maintain, repair, test, and install electrical motors, generators, industrial forklift batteries, and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems
- The candidates should be able to conduct preventative maintenance programs on powered and non-powered aircraft ground support equipment
- The candidates should be able to install, maintain, and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices
