Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 15+ years of infrastructure development or project experience

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• The candidates should demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and proficiency in working in team environments
• The candidates should have a strong commitment to working in a safe, socially responsible manner

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should be registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) and eligible to register as a P.Eng. in Manitoba
• The candidates should hold a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or equivalent and previous consulting, EPCM, or contractor experience
• The candidates should have project evaluation and management experience in surface and underground construction, engineering, and procurement
• The candidates should have excellent knowledge of surface and underground construction methods
• The candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Office programs and experience with scheduling applications (Primavera P6) and project management applications

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to provide design input to engineering consultants and review and develop specifications, detailed scopes of work, and tender documents
• The candidates should be able to coordinate efforts internally within other Alamos teams during planning, design, construction, and commissioning
• The candidates should be able to coordinate and manage contractors and consultants  and follow up on projects through site visits, quality control, cost control, and adherence to plan
• The candidates should be able to manage project execution schedules and analyze and report on cost, scope, and schedule status to the project team and stakeholders
• The candidates should be able to develop project dashboards for stakeholders at all levels and manage project timelines, tracking, and performance scorecards
• The candidates should be able to recognize project changes, document them, and initiate change control management procedures to evaluate impacts on cost, time, and scope
• The candidates should be able to recommend courses of action to maintain schedule and control project costs
• The candidates should be able to lead continuous improvement efforts in relation to construction projects and support RFQs and RFPs processes, including preparation, review, analysis, and selection
• The candidates should be able to coach and mentor younger team members and provide input to studies, including completing AFE’s and economic justifications for projects and scopes
• The candidates should be able to participate in corporate development activities and other projects, such as scoping and feasibility studies and perform other tasks
