Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should meet the physical demands of performing essential duties and demonstrate a sense of urgency and attention to detail and basic computer skills
  • The candidates should be available for weekend overtime as production and maintenance demands require
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively with automation engineers and be capable of operating production equipment and evaluating its performance

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess Red Seal Certification (Ontario Electrician license) with at least 3 years of proven industrial field experience
  • The candidates should have comprehensive knowledge of design, techniques, and tools in electronic and electrical applications, with additional experience in pneumatics and hydraulics
  • The candidates should have extensive knowledge of plant and process equipment operations, execute planned and scheduled daily tasks with minimal supervision and demonstrate strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • The candidates should possess a full complement of personal, professional hand tools and knowledge of Maintenance Reliability processes, including predictive and preventive maintenance and related technologies
  • The candidates should be proficient with precision tools, such as laser alignment equipment, dial indicators, micrometers, and optical levels, as well as testing equipment for vibration analysis and other predictive maintenance techniques
  • The candidates should have basic knowledge of industrial safety, food safety, and environmental regulations, with an unwavering commitment to safety standards and exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to be deeply involved in progressive, proactive maintenance routines, with a philosophy deeply rooted in a predictive approach and troubleshoot and execute identified corrective maintenance requirements and carry out documented work requests and apply corrective action
  • The candidates should be able to perform assigned work orders and account for inventory and labour on a computerized maintenance management system (SAP), read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine the layout of industrial electrical equipment installations
  • The candidates should be able to conduct preventive maintenance routines and update maintenance records and interpret electrical code specifications and troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial, electrical, and electronic control systems and other related devices
  • The candidates should be able to maintain, repair, test, and install electrical motors, variable frequency drives, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries, and hydraulic, pneumatic electrical control systems
  • The candidates should be able to test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance
  • The candidates should be able to install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic, Ethernet, and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components
  • The candidates should be able to ensure all job-related operations follow GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practice), HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points), WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System), and health, safety requirements and understand and adhere to all plant Food, Health and Safety Policies
