Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of minimum of a four year degree in Education, Curriculum Design, Instructional Design, Educational Technology and Online Learning
Experience: Candidates should have minimum of five years of progressive experience in an education or training field

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have at least one (1) year of experience working in instructional design, curriculum design, educational technology, or a related field
  • The candidates should possess certificates or courses in Instructional Design, Learning Management Systems (LMSs), multimedia, or other eLearning tools
  • The candidates should demonstrate experience in developing and delivering instructional design workshops and resources to support faculty subject matter experts
  • The candidates should show the ability to assist faculty in designing face-to-face, online, and hybrid lessons. This includes recommending learning methods, assessment activities, course flow, Learning Management System integration, educational technologies, and other interactive course components
  • The candidates should have experience within a teaching and learning center at a higher education institution is preferred for the candidates
  • The candidates should exhibit highly effective communication, presentation, and organizational skills
  • The candidates should provide evidence of commitment to the success of all learners

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assist faculty in designing face-to-face, online, and hybrid lessons by recommending appropriate learning methods, assessment activities, course flow, integration of Learning Management Systems (LMS), educational technologies, and interactive course components
  • The candidates should be able to ensure that courses adhere to Quality Assurance Standards, best practices in instructional design, copyright and intellectual property regulations, and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) standards
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate and manage the timely completion of course design and development projects, meeting deliverable deadlines and adhering to allocated budgets for resources
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with faculty and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop and update course outlines and course section information documents
  • The candidates should be able to develop and deliver instructional design workshops and resources to support faculty at Algonquin College
  • The candidates should be able to research, evaluate, and implement practices and technologies related to learning theory and instructional design
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate and contribute to the planning of special projects within Instructional Design
  • The candidates should be able to maintain and update templates, policies, and processes relevant to instructional design activities
