Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have educational qualifications such as High School/GED
Experience: Candidates should have 3+ years experience in the relevant field

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate leadership skills, taking initiative and inspiring others
  • The candidates should hold a valid Refrigeration Journeyman level license issued by the province in which the work is performed and a valid Driver’s License
  • The candidates should be capable of providing peer-to-peer technical support, assisting colleagues with technical issues
  • The candidates should possess effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey ideas clearly and foster collaboration
  • The candidates should be proficient in project management and be willing to take on stretch assignments, demonstrating their ability to handle tasks beyond their usual responsibilities
  • The candidates should take ownership of facility locations, meaning they are responsible for the operations and management of specific facilities or locations
  • The candidates should have the ability to effectively lead the team, overseeing meetings, projects, and providing guidance and support to team members

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to be responsible for the maintenance and/or repair of a variety of physical plant and specialized equipment in an assigned group of 7-Eleven/Stripes stores within a geographic area
  • The candidates should be able to perform on-the-job training and assessment of new Techs, including follow-up assessments and training after they have been in the field for a given time
  • The candidates should be able to perform all duties and responsibilities of a Tech 1 and demonstrate at least 75% proficiency in Tech II duties and responsibilities, which include responding to work orders for a wide variety of in-store equipment, including HVAC systems, refrigeration units, hot beverage equipment (coffee, and cappuccino), cold beverage equipment (tea, fountain machines, frozen beverage dispensers, and creamer machines), fountain/backroom ice makers, hot food equipment (fryers, griddles, tortilla presses, ovens, roller grills, and warmers), fuel dispensers (printers, displays, card readers, and hanging hardware)
  • The candidates should be able to respond to work orders related to plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance issues, as well as replace ‘plug and play’ equipment as needed
  • The candidates should be able to instruct, oversee, correct, and support their assigned Apprentice, including overseeing apprentices in specific disciplines, completing required evaluations, and ensuring safety policies and guidelines are adhered to
  • The candidates should be able to submit hours/paperwork required for apprentice certifications to the trades board, periodically report on apprentice progress, support apprentices with online classes if required, and develop strategies to support continual growth and skills development
  • The candidates should be able to conduct site assessments, coaching, and follow-ups as required, assess techs’ strengths and areas of opportunity, and help develop best practices for training
