Salary: $47.00 to $57.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Richmond, BC
Shifts: Day, Evening, Overtime, On Call, Early Morning, Morning
Transportation information: Vehicle supplied by employer and valid driver’s licence
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as other trades certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 5 years or more
Own tools/equipment: Tools and steel-toed safety boots
Credentials: Backflow prevention Certification, Plumber Trade Certification, Working at heights training, Confined Space Entry Training, and Plumber Red Seal Certificate
Security and safety: Basic security clearance, criminal record check, and driving record check (abstract)
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to perform physically demanding tasks, handle heavy loads, and work under pressure
- The candidates should be able to demonstrate hand-eye coordination and perform tasks requiring bending, crouching, and kneeling
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be accurate, client-focused, and possess efficient interpersonal skills
- The candidates should have excellent oral and written communication skills
- The candidates should exercise judgment and be a team player
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to install and repair domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems, read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems, and determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing
- The candidates should be able to prepare tenders and quotations, estimate costs and materials, and schedule personnel, tools and equipment
- The candidates should be able to instruct apprentices, supervise other workers, and locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors
- The candidates should be able to cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and fittings, join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment, and measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size
- The candidates should be able to test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges
