Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have High School Diploma or better
Experience: Candidates should have 2+ years of industry experience with lairage control and live bird care

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a current valid driver’s license. Possession of an AZ or DZ license or related experience
  • The candidates should asked to complete the shunt truck driving training course provided by the company to serve as a back-up to the shunting
  • The candidates should demonstrate excellent organizational and time management skills with a high degree of initiative and flexibility
  • The candidates should be self-starters/motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision, possessing strong organization skills
  • The candidates should be strong communicators, both written and oral, who are confident and decisive

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to manage arrivals of inbound live loads and oversee lairage segregation (RWA; Organic; Conventional)
  • The candidates should be able to complete lairage monitoring forms at required intervals and be able to act as the key ‘on-site’ point of contact with the live procurement team
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate decisions on slaughter changes with the Live Receiving Supervisor, Assistant Supervisor, and live procurement team
  • The candidates should be able to ensure input of data to the Live Bird Handling (LBH) system is accurate and corrected as needed
  • The candidates should be able to ensure the scale is operational, calibrated as per schedule, and that scale tickets are collected and entered
  • The candidates should be able to oversee snow removal and keep the scale clear of dirt and debris and able to coordinate the movement of birds from the holding barn as needed
  • The candidates should be able to ensure fans are operational in the holding barn, coordinate sides on in winter, and ensure doors are operational as needed
  • The candidates should be able to conduct snow removal, salt and sand activities at all man door entrances and safety exits
  • The candidates should be able to perform lawn and yard work as required, which may include lawn cutting, weed removal, parking lot sweep, garbage pickup, and other work as assigned by management
  • The candidates should be able to perform any other work as assigned by management
