Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 years to less than 3 years
Area of specialization: Landscape construction and Plant knowledge and identification
Construction specialization: Fieldstone paths, Interlocking brick, Poured concrete and Retaining walls
Landscaping experience: Residential projects and Commercial and/or industrial construction

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be able to work in environments with odors, noise, and outdoor conditions, and demonstrate attention to detail in their tasks
• The candidates should be capable of handling repetitive tasks effectively, handle heavy loads as part of their job responsibilities, and possess physical endurance to manage demanding tasks
• The candidates should exhibit manual dexterity for precise work, be adaptable to a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and be comfortable standing for extended periods
• The candidates should be capable of performing activities such as bending, crouching, and kneeling

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should demonstrate excellent oral communication skills and exhibit excellent written communication abilities
• The candidates should show flexibility in adapting to various situations and be organized in their approach to work
• The candidates should demonstrate reliability in meeting job responsibilities and be effective team players

Candidate Status:

• Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
• Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to estimate costs and read and interpret blueprints
• The candidates should be able to water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens, and apply fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, pesticides, and other lawn care products
• The candidates should be able to apply various treatments such as pruning, spraying, repairing damaged areas, and injecting with treatment solutions, and assess the health of lawns
• The candidates should be able to direct crews who maintain the health and appearance of golf courses and their surrounding landscapes and examine trees and shrubs to diagnose problems and diseases
• The candidates should be able to plan and coordinate the growth and use of plants for landscaping, ornamental uses, and other purposes
• The candidates should be able to plan and construct landscaped environments, which may include trees, shrubberies, lawns, fences, decks, patios, and other landscape structures
• The candidates should be able to plant and maintain private and public lawns and gardens, as well as plant and move trees
