Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a degree in Engineering
Experience: Candidates should have 10 years of professional engineering experience obtained after receiving your P. Eng

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess a designation and current licensure as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA), complete with practicing status OR licensure and practicing status by the first day of work
  • The candidates should have a practical understanding of municipal regulations and legislation such as the Engineering and Geoscience Professions Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act, and Potable Water Regulation
  • The candidates should have preferred qualifications include experience in design, construction, site inspections, project management, quality program management, and business performance management
  • The candidates should have preferred candidates will have at least 5 years of responsible leadership of a section or team
  • The candidates should have experience within a utility or municipal setting will be and personal vehicle for occasional business purposes
  • The candidates should have possession of a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to collaborate and build strategic partnerships and collaborative environments, make sound and timely decisions, facilitate successful project completions, and resolve issues related to the construction execution, quality management, and asset integrity of linear infrastructure
  • The candidates should note that successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with interested parties to facilitate sound and timely decision-making to manage and drive quality improvements for infrastructure projects
  • The candidates should be able to provide leadership, staff development, coaching, mentoring, and assistance to enable successful project execution and asset integrity or longevity and manage the annual operating budget
  • The candidates should be able to be accountable for personnel matters including physical and psychological safety, selection, training, remuneration, and labor relations for direct and indirect reports
  • The candidates should be able to provide engineering and technical subject matter expertise for standards and specifications, design consultation, technical reviews, field inspections, construction, and as-built approvals and asset management
  • The candidates should be able to define the objectives, priorities, and long-term plan for the section to deliver and monitor infrastructure quality management services that enable successful project delivery and asset integrity or longevity
  • The candidates should be able to promote cross-section or division synergy, integration, and performance
  • The candidates should be able to drive collaboration and facilitate strategic partnerships with interest-holders including consultants, contractors, manufacturers, and distributors as well as internal partners to ensure successful project completions and issues resolution
  • The candidates should be able to engage management, clients, and partners to discuss and negotiate service levels and resolve concerns
  • The candidates should be able to provide leadership and strategic decision-making regarding the investment of resources including human capital, technologies, tools, vehicles and equipment, and continuous improvement and change management projects/programs to ensure current and long-term needs are met
