Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English or French Language
Education: Candidates should have Diploma from a recognized institution for practical nursing education and eligibility for registration and licensing as an LPN in Nunavut
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be aware that this is a Highly Sensitive Position, and require a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, along with a clear Vulnerable Sector Check
  • The candidates should have the physical ability to move quickly and efficiently throughout healthcare facilities, attending to patients in various settings, it includes walking, standing, and possibly assisting in emergency situations

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should hold current BCLS, and annual recertification
  • The candidates should possess WHIMS training and current Immunization Certification, or demonstrate willingness to complete within one month of hire
  • The candidates should have Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Critical Incident Stress Debriefing, Cross-Cultural training, and Back Injury Prevention Program

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to plan and perform client interventions and evaluate client outcomes following the Standards of Practice adopted by the Government of Nunavut with the intention of regaining and maintaining client health
  • The candidates should be able to observe, assess, monitor, and document all findings and care provided as per the Government of Nunavut Documentation Standards and Guidelines
  • The candidates should be able to provide direct nursing care, health promotion, and prevention to clients
  • The candidates should be able to deliver quality nursing care within the scope of practice as outlined by the professional licensing body and the Government of Nunavut

Benefits:

  • The candidates will get Northern Allowance of $24,747 yearly
