Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have Graduation from a recognized Licensed Practical Nursing program
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have completed a pharmacology course, which includes medication administration
- The candidates should have completed a course in Basic Life Support
- The candidates should possess knowledge of and ability to apply the nursing processes (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation)
- The candidates should have knowledge of biological, physical, and behavioral sciences to recognize, interpret, and prioritize findings to determine and implement the plan of action based on accepted standards of practice
- The candidates should have knowledge of and ability to network resources within and outside the TCSA, such as Stanton Territorial Hospital, Social Services, Public Health, Continuing Care, and Independent Living
- The candidates should have knowledge of the principles of wound care and have knowledge of the principles of palliative care
- The candidates should possess communication skills suitable for client and community service delivery and teaching/learning
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to perform nursing and medical administrative functions for clinical and home care programs
- The candidates should be able to work in consultation with other members of the primary health care team
- The candidates should be able to possess the skills to assess client/community strengths and abilities
- The candidates should be able to be capable of planning and implementing care in collaboration with clients and other health care team and community members
- The candidates should be able to demonstrate the ability to assess care effectiveness
- The candidates should be able to be proficient in working as a member of a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural team
