Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a valid CPR and First Aid Certification
Experience: Candidates should have previous working experience with the elderly in long-term care or a senior living environment
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have the ability to work a schedule of flexible hours and shifts inclusive of days, nights, weekends, and holidays
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be registered with the provincial Practical Nursing regulatory body and any previous course in Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care would be a huge
- The candidates should be able to provide a clear criminal record with vulnerable sector screening upon hire
- The candidates should have a passion for the healthcare sector and ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services, and care
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, document, and direct resident needs through consultation with medical professionals, care conferences, and internal staff
- The candidates should be able to provide leadership to health services staff and oversee the provision of quality health services, respecting the client’s right to individualized planning of health services
- The candidates should be able to work with existing management and health services teams to promote communication and compliance with policies and procedures
- The candidates should be able to administer and record prescribed medication as per company policy and scope of practice
- The candidates should be able to maintain standards of accurate and complete documentation and reporting
- The candidates should be able to apply dressings and treatments according to physician’s orders and policy
- The candidates should be able to assist with supervision and evaluation of job performance and behavior of other healthcare staff
