Salary: $31.84 to $40.15 hourly (To be negotiated) 40 to 48 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Sechelt, BC
Shifts: Evening, Night, Weekend, Overtime, On Call, Morning
Work setting: Relocation costs covered by employer, willing to relocate, nursing home/home for the aged, and chronic or long-term care facilities/centres

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Area of specialization: Palliative care, Geriatrics
Credentials: Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work, Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate, and CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check, immunization records, tuberculosis test, and vulnerable sector check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • The candidates should be capable of working under pressure
  • The candidates should have attention to detail
  • The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
  • International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to administer medications to patients according to prescribed dosages and schedules and ensure infection control measures are followed to prevent the spread of infections in healthcare settings
  • The candidates should be able to administer medication, observe and document therapeutic effects, take vital signs, apply aseptic techniques, monitor nutritional intake, and conduct specimen collection as part of patient care
  • The candidates should be able to provide safety and health education to individuals and their families, provide nursing services within the defined scope of practice, monitor patients’ progress
  • The candidates should be able to evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions, and consult with appropriate members of the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive patient care
