Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have Current active registration with the College of License Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM)
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should hold a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Acute, Transitional, PCH, Primary Health Care, Public Health-Healthy Living, Home Care)
  • The candidates should have knowledge of Professional Standards of Practice, Competency Profile for Licensed Practical Nurses in Manitoba, and Code of Ethics
  • The candidates should demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills,  conflict resolution skills and ability to lead and make decisions autonomously
  • The candidates should respect and promote a culturally diverse population and respect for confidentiality, including paper, electronic formats, and other mediums and a good work and attendance record
  • The candidates should have strong organizational skills and flexibility to meet the demands of the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to support clients/residents/patients in achieving and maintaining their optimum level of health within a people-centered care approach within acute, transitional, personal care home (PCH), primary health care, public health- healthy living, and/or home care
  • The candidates should be able to work to the full scope of practice, engage in ongoing education to maintain competency congruent with Southern Health-Santé Sud policies, and adhere to Professional Standards of Practice
  • The candidates should be able to adhere to the College of Licensed Practical Nurse of Manitoba Code of Ethics, the Competency Profile for Licensed Practical Nurses in Manitoba, and the Regulated Health Professions Act and exercise the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, use appropriate work methods, and take action on unusual matters
