Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow them to work effectively in a diverse working environment and possess moderate to advanced skiing or riding ability
• The candidates should be able to work flexible shifts, weekends, and holidays in cold temperatures
• The candidates should be able to lift, push, pull, and move equipment weighing more than twenty-five pounds

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should understand all aspects of the Lift Operators Manual and all emergency procedures
• The candidates should be able to communicate effectively and have strong attention to detail and follow all of Nakiska’s policies and procedures

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to train, coach, and supervise lift operators, ticket scanners, and tubing staff and work in conjunction with Snow Safety and Dispatch to share information required for the overall operations of the ski hill and customer service issues that may occur at the lifts and support Nakiska’s customer service program, Service with No Boundaries
• The candidates should be able to demonstrate thorough knowledge of all aspects of Lift Operations and emergency procedures and execute lift evacuation procedures and work in partnership with the maintenance department to ensure the mechanical soundness of the lifts
• The candidates should be able to perform daily ramp work, including setting up and taking down mazes, and cleaning chairs and lift huts and interact with guests in a friendly and cheerful manner
• The candidates should be able to comply with all safety regulations of assigned tasks and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety program
• The candidates should be able to assist with ticket validation, line management, and direct guests appropriately and assist guests getting on lifts through friendly guidance and instruction
• The candidates should be able to perform inspection and documentation of pre-operational and operational checks
• The candidates should be able to perform general outdoor housekeeping duties, including basic maintenance or carpentry tasks and demonstrate a commitment to exceeding guests’ expectations daily through their work
• The candidates should be able to direct traffic and aid guests during special events, conditions, and in building locations and ensure signs, ropes, gates, and pylons are in place and maintained for guest and staff safety
• The candidates should be able to safely understand and execute all emergency procedures, including lift evacuation procedures and work extended, flexible shifts, including weekends, in extreme weather conditions on the resort
