Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of some secondary school education
Experience: Candidates should have one year of related experience in a food services environment
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have a passion for promoting and maintaining a healthy and safe workplace, and the ability to work respectfully and effectively in a team environment
- The candidates should be available to work up to 24 hours per week, including morning, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts
- The candidates should be flexible with work hours, which may change based on organizational and at least 15 years of age
- The candidates should note that hours of work may be outside of public transportation operation hours
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have Safe Food Handling certification and demonstrate knowledge of safe operating and maintenance procedures for all kitchen equipment
- The candidates should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with other members of the Food Services team, City staff, and the general public
- The candidates should have previous cash-handling skills and experience balancing revenues
- The candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering quality customer service
- The candidates should show a demonstrated commitment to Reconciliation, Equity, Accessibility, Diversity, and Inclusion
- The candidates should provide a Police Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check satisfactory to the City
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to ensure consistent, efficient, and healthy food preparation to support concession and restaurant operations at the City of Waterloo’s recreation facilities
- The candidates should be able to understand and ensure compliance with safe food handling procedures
- The candidates should be able to maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work area and provide excellent customer service to the public
- The candidates should be able to produce quality products by adhering to specifications and standards
