Note: This is not a condition of employment, Room and board provided, and Work in employer’s/client’s home
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 to less than 3 years
Area of specialization: Elderly, Males, and Persons with physical disabilities
Credentials: CPR Certificate, First Aid Certificate, and Personal Support Worker Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Reference required, Immunization records, and Vulnerable sector check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be non-smoking
- The candidates should be capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling as required, managing a combination of sitting, standing, and walking during work hours, and thriving in a fast-paced environment
- The candidates should be adept at handling heavy loads, physically capable of meeting the demands of the job, and comfortable performing repetitive tasks
- The candidates should be comfortable sitting for extended periods, able to stand for extended periods during work hours, and capable of walking as necessary for job requirements
- The candidates should be skilled in working under pressure and experienced in handling weights between 81 and 100 kg (177-220 lbs)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be punctual in their attendance and demonstrate a strong focus on client satisfaction
- The candidates should exhibit dependability in their work and possess efficient interpersonal skills
- The candidates should demonstrate excellent oral communication and be flexible in adapting to different situations and tasks
- The candidates should demonstrate initiative in problem-solving and task completion, exercise good judgment in decision-making, and be organized in their approach to work
- The candidates should be reliable in fulfilling their duties and be effective team players
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to administer bedside and personal care, administer medications, and assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
- The candidates should be able to assist in regular exercise, such as walking, assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of the householder, and change non-sterile dressings
- The candidates should be able to feed or assist in feeding, launder clothing and household linens, mend clothing and linens, and perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
- The candidates should be able to plan therapeutic diets and menus, provide companionship, provide personal care, shop for food and household supplies, and prepare and serve nutritious meals
