Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of Grade 12
Experience: Candidates should have 4 years work experience with building maintenance and technical or mechanical aptitude
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should possess a valid G class driver’s license in good standing
- The candidates should have the ability to work with minimal supervision, be highly organized, and keep various records updated
- The candidates should be familiar with the operation of high-pressure hot water heating and domestic water systems
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have equivalent education plus one year post-secondary training in a maintenance-related field
- The candidates should have successful completion of a certificate in building maintenance
- The candidates should have practical knowledge and skills necessary to maintain all facility areas including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and maintaining supplies
- The candidates should have knowledge and skills necessary to maintain building systems including preventive maintenance functions as well as fire system checks and system resets
- The candidates should have excellent communication and conflict resolution skills, including the ability to document incidents, investigate maintenance concerns, show vacant units, and assist contractors
- The candidates should provide a police background check specific to vulnerable sector screening
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to report to the Manager, Housing Operations
- The candidates should be able to perform a wide variety of repairs, maintenance, and services to buildings, grounds and equipment
- The candidates should be able to work at properties owned and leased by the City of Brantford
- The candidates should be able to ensure all tasks are performed in a safe and secure manner
