Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Equipment and machinery experience: Band saw, power grinder, and slicing machine

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be able to handle a combination of sitting, standing, walking and stand for extended periods
• The candidates should be able to handle physically demanding tasks and heavy loads
• The candidates should be able to demonstrate hand-eye co-ordination

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should be accurate and excellent in oral communication
• The candidates should be flexible and able to take initiative
• The candidates should be organized and a team player

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to clean meats to prepare for processing or cutting, cut carcasses, sides and quarters, and cut, trim and prepare standard cuts of meat
• The candidates should be able to wrap and package prepared meats, remove bones from meat, and weigh meats for sale
• The candidates should be able to cut poultry into parts, price meat products, and sell meats to customers
• The candidates should be able to supervise other butchers, meat cutters and fishmongers, grind meats, and train meat cutters

Candidate Status:

• Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
• Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
