Job Description:

Salary: $17.00 to $26.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Sarnia, ON
Shifts: Day, Overtime, On Call, 08:00 to 16:30
Transportation information: Willing to travel, and valid driver’s licence
Work setting: Various locations, maintenance, service, repair, and overhaul

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Area of specialization: Bearing, seals, and packing, specialty welding, and stainless steel welding
Equipment and machinery experience: Hydraulic system, lathes and other machining tools, pumps and compressors, tool grinders, welding equipment, and hand tools
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
Security and safety: Bondable, and basic security clearance

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be comfortable working at heights as necessary and in confined spaces as required by the job
• The candidates should be able to work in noisy environments and tolerate various odors in the workplace
• The candidates should be prepared to work in dusty conditions when necessary
• The candidates should be capable of handling heavy loads and tasks involving bending, crouching, and kneeling as part of their duties
• The job may involve physically demanding tasks, and the candidates should be able to stand for extended periods as required by the job, attention to detail is essential for the job responsibilities, and the candidates should be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines effectively, and handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs) as part of their duties

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as exhibit the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues as team players

Candidate Status:

• Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
• Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to detect, troubleshoot, and repair irregularities, malfunctions, or defective machinery parts
• The candidates should be able to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up, and perform routine maintenance work on machinery
• The candidates should be able to operate machining tools to fabricate parts
