Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as College/CEGEP or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 to less than 3 years
Area of specialization: Pre-school education
Credentials: Food allergy and anaphylaxis training, member of the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE), Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, Montessori Early Childhood Teacher Certificate, and CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check, immunization records, and vulnerable sector check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be non-smoking and have attention to detail
- The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
- The candidates should be capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling as required

Candidate Status:

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to assess the children’s development in order to prepare a learning plan tailored to their needs and develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
- The candidates should be able to maintain daycare equipment and engage in storytelling activities
- The candidates should be able to synthesize the overall situation of the children and communicate the information to the parents, assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children, and lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
- The candidates should be able to assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records, encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity, and engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts
- The candidates should be able to prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods, observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors, and submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors
- The candidates should be able to discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings, attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children, establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children, and plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
