Work setting:Â Employer’s home, Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis. Note: This is NOT a condition of employment, Urban area, Work in employer’s/client’s home
Target audience: Supervise and care for multi-aged group of children, School age (6 – 12 years)
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English or French Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years’
Credentials:Â First Aid Certificate
Security and safety:Â Child Abuse Registry check, Child welfare check, Criminal record check, Drug test, Medical exam, Reference required
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to maintain a non-smoking environment and ensure a scent-free workplace
- The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads, work overtime when required, and manage physically demanding tasks
- The candidates should be able to perform repetitive tasks, work under pressure, and lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to demonstrate client focus and exhibit efficient interpersonal skills
- The candidates should possess excellent oral and written communication skills, showcase flexibility in their approach, and take initiative in their tasks
- The candidates should exercise good judgment in decision-making, be organized in their tasks, show reliability in completing assignments, and work well as a team player
- The candidates should effectively manage their time
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorized (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents, perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, and shop for food and household supplies
- The candidates should be able to travel with the family on trips, assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties, and wash, iron, and press clothing and household linens
- The candidates should be able to bathe, dress, and feed infants and children, discipline them according to the methods requested by the parents, and instruct them in personal hygiene and social development
- The candidates should be able to keep records of daily activities and health information, maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home, organize activities for children, prepare and serve nutritious meals, and handle tasks such as preparing infants for rest periods, sterilizing bottles, preparing formulas, changing diapers, supervising and caring for children, and taking them to and from school and appointments while tending to their emotional well-being
