Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a high school diploma

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a passion for promoting health and wellness

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a valid card evidencing successful completion of standard first aid with CPR/AED level A or C from a Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) approved certifying authority
  • The candidates should have one of the following qualifications, Valid Provincial Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) Certification from the Ministry of Health and the Canadian Organization of Paramedic Regulators, Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) certification from the Ministry of Health and the Provincial College of Nurses and Department of Health and Six months of job experience as a Military Medical Technician (Canadian Armed Forces) within the last year
  • The candidates should have experience with workers’ compensation and be certified to teach first aid, CPR, and AED training from the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Red Cross
  • The candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Office, experience with an industrial wellness program and experience coaching on body mechanics
  • The candidates should have experience managing musculoskeletal disorders, experience in ergonomics, experience with federal and province-specific regulations and be proficient in digital recordkeeping

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide triage, prompt first aid within the scope of their training, and referral to outside medical providers, if indicated and minimize the AA risk of injury through awareness, education, and proactive engagement
  • The candidates should be able to maintain all records of care provided to AAs and develop a first aid care plan for AAs recovering from an injury, focusing on injury improvement, including self-care instructions
  • The candidates should be able to manage the workers’ compensation and return to work process for AAs with work-related injuries, provide daily activity logs and end-of-shift reports
  • The candidates should be able to spend frequent time on the warehouse floor to interact and engage with AAs and managers to coach on observed at-risk work habits, maintain a clean and orderly environment
  • The candidates should be able to monitor and ensure appropriate medical supply inventory is maintained, participate in special projects and ad hoc tasks and be trained to teach First Aid/CPR/AED certification classes
  • The candidates should be able to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, and weekends and communicate effectively, display professional behavior, multitask and have exceptional time management skills and work in and embrace an inclusive and diverse atmosphere
  • The candidates should be able to follow direction, policy, and procedures as per Amazon and local regulation and maintain composure in emergencies and lead emergency response at the site
