Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have post-secondary education, with a degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain management, or a related field
Experience: Candidates should possess a minimum of three years of previous inventory and purchasing experience as a required skill, with experience in the produce/agriculture industry
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be aware that hours of work may vary depending on business needs, and they should be willing and able to travel, with the requirement of possessing a valid passport with no restrictions
- The candidates should be aware that the conditions are typically found in an office setting with occasional duties within a refrigerated warehouse, where temperatures range from 45-55°F. The noise level in the work environment can be loud due to packaging machinery and forklift truck operation
- The candidates should have the ability to listen and speak to other employees
- The candidates should be able to use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Specific vision capabilities are required, and the employee is expected to work in front of a computer, sitting for prolonged periods
- The candidates should be able to lift up to 30 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have working computer and software knowledge as a required qualification, with proficiency in Microsoft (MS) Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) also being required
- The candidates should demonstrate superior interpersonal, analytical, and planning skills
- The candidates should have knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Health and Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, and the PrimusGFS program, with FAMOUS software knowledge being preferred
- The candidates should demonstrate the capacity to engage with suppliers and build relationships to create win-win partnerships
- The candidates should have a proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate keen attention to detail and task-related accuracy, as well as consistent follow-through skills
- The candidates should possess exceptional analytical and organizational skills as an essential requirement, being results-oriented with a demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize workflow
- The candidates should possess sound decision-making skills and the ability to work in a high-stress environment
- The candidates should understand the need for urgency while providing outstanding customer service
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to operate a forklift or other hand truck activities, to stage, count, sort, and wrap finished products
- The candidates should be able to assist in negotiating, purchasing, ordering, and managing packaging inventories
- The candidates should be able to complete physical inventory counts of all stocked items twice weekly
- The candidates should be able to analyze cost efficiencies in supply management and inventories
- The candidates should be able to communicate and address variances, quality issues, and concerns with relevant departments to help identify the causes and implement sustainable corrective action
- The candidates should be able to assist in securing letters of compliance for food safety from existing packaging suppliers
- The candidates should be able to visit and regularly communicate with growers, to establish and evaluate their packaging needs; review quality and inventory on hand
- The candidates should be able to provide exceptional customer service to internal and external clients and vendors
- The candidates should be able to handle administrative duties, including collecting information and data input
- The candidates should be willing to perform other core expectations as defined by the company
