Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Experience with special needs children: Assistance with mobility
Credentials: CPR Certificate, First Aid Certificate, Health Care Aide Certificate, and Personal Support Worker Certificate
Security and safety: Reference required and Basic security clearance

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be proficient in tasks involving bending, crouching, and kneeling
• The candidates should be adaptable to a combination of sitting, standing, and walking during their work
• The candidates should be prepared for overtime as required for the job
• The candidates should be accustomed to performing repetitive tasks as part of their responsibilities
• The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods during their work

Candidate Status:

• Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
• Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to administer bedside and personal care, including administering medications and assisting clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
• The candidates should be able to assist clients in water (i.e., pool), assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of the householder, and feed or assist in feeding
• The candidates should be able to perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, provide companionship, and shop for food and household supplies
• The candidates should be able to launder clothing and household linens, mend clothing and linens, and prepare and serve nutritious meals
• The candidates should be able to assist in regular exercise, such as walking, and provide personal care.
