Work setting: Various locations and Work in employer’s/client’s home
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Experience with special needs children: Assistance with mobility
Credentials: CPR Certificate, First Aid Certificate, Health Care Aide Certificate, and Personal Support Worker Certificate
Security and safety: Reference required and Basic security clearance
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be proficient in tasks involving bending, crouching, and kneeling
- The candidates should be adaptable to a combination of sitting, standing, and walking during their work
- The candidates should be prepared for overtime as required for the job
- The candidates should be accustomed to performing repetitive tasks as part of their responsibilities
- The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods during their work
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate punctuality, consistently arriving on time for work and commitments, and possess efficient interpersonal skills for effective communication
- The candidates should have a strong client focus, prioritizing client satisfaction and needs, and demonstrate excellent oral communication skills
- The candidates should exhibit dependability, reliably fulfilling assigned tasks and responsibilities, and show flexibility, adapting to changing circumstances and tasks
- The candidates should take initiative, proactively contributing to the success of the team, and exercise good judgment in decision-making and problem-solving
- The candidates should be organized, maintaining a systematic approach to tasks, be reliable, consistently meeting commitments and expectations, and be a team player, collaborating effectively with colleagues
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to administer bedside and personal care, including administering medications and assisting clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
- The candidates should be able to assist clients in water (i.e., pool), assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of the householder, and feed or assist in feeding
- The candidates should be able to perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, provide companionship, and shop for food and household supplies
- The candidates should be able to launder clothing and household linens, mend clothing and linens, and prepare and serve nutritious meals
- The candidates should be able to assist in regular exercise, such as walking, and provide personal care.
