Work setting: Various locations, commercial and residential
Work site environment: Candidates should work in confined spaces and wet or damp area
Own tools/equipment: Candidates should have steel-toed safety boots
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates need experience of 1 year to less than 2 years
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should be able for bending, crouching, kneeling
- The candidate should be physically strong and also have hand-eye co-ordination
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to work with being focused on the client
- The candidate should be someone who can judge, a team player and also have accuracy
- The candidate should be able to supervise 3-4 people
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems
- The candidate should be able to install, repair and maintain domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems and also locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors
- The candidate should be able to cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings, join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment, test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges, determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing and also measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size
