Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a post secondary degree in public policy, public administration, political science and social sciences
Experience: Candidates should have experience in researching, analyzing, developing and evaluating policy options, ideally within a government context
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be strong writers who can work collaboratively and be leaders in the workplace
- The candidates should have the ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess critical thinking skills and the ability to analyze a broad variety of policy projects and make well-thought-out recommendations

- The candidates should have experience planning, leading, and/or facilitating large projects and working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- The candidates should have knowledge of Yukon government approvals processes
- The candidates should possess time management skills, problem-solving skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines
- The candidates should demonstrate the ability to think critically, make reasoned recommendations and strong attention to detail
- The candidates should possess excellent communication skills both oral and written

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to manage large complex policy initiatives and support the team in providing “fearless policy advice and faithful implementation”
- The candidates should be able to balance big picture, strategic thinking while being detail-oriented and client-focused
- The candidates should be able to develop and implement policy options as well as lead and manage policy development projects through the approvals process
- The candidates should be able to provide recommendations on complex issues, draft decision-making documents, and develop policy in a collaborative setting
- The candidates should be able to lead or participate in inter-departmental committees in areas of interest to the department, providing various networking opportunities
- The candidates should be able to support the Minister and senior management in the department while being exposed to the day-to-day workings of the Yukon government
