Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Area of specialization: Swine

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should have experience in hog and pig farming and possess knowledge of livestock management practices
• The candidates should be comfortable working in dusty environments and tolerant of various odors associated with livestock farming
• The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exhibit attention to detail in their work
• The candidates should be prepared for physically demanding tasks and possess hand-eye coordination for tasks that require precision
• The candidates should have the ability to distinguish between colors if necessary and be able to walk for extended periods as required

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should maintain an organized approach to their work tasks and schedules while being reliable in fulfilling their responsibilities and meeting commitments
• The candidates should be team players, capable of collaborating effectively with colleagues, and should maintain an organized approach to their work tasks and schedules

Candidate Status:

• Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to handle animals with care and expertise and monitor animal health regularly to ensure well-being
• The candidates should be able to process pig litters efficiently and safely and maintain livestock performance records accurately
• The candidates should be able to recognize and treat certain livestock health problems promptly and appropriately, maintain work records and logs related to farm activities, and perform general farm duties as needed to support farm operations
