Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or Intermediate or a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have minimum of 2 years in a client facing role in a financial institution, including financial planning and portfolio management
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have completion of either CIM or CFA Level 1
- The candidates should possess experience in trading
- The candidates should demonstrate advanced MS Office skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- The candidates should exhibit attention to detail, strong organizational skills, excellent oral and written skills, and technological savvy
- The candidates should possess tax planning experience
- The candidates should have portfolio management skills
- The candidates should have successful completion of CSC as a requirement
- The candidates should have expertise in Asset and Liability Management (ALM)
- The candidates should possess skills in cash management, competitive markets, consulting, and financial statement analysis
- The candidates should demonstrate proficiency in investment management and understanding of investment risk and market risk
- The candidates should be familiar with new challenges in the financial industry
- The candidates should be results-oriented
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to support the Investment Counsellor in the management of private client portfolios (primarily comprised of pooled funds), relationships, and meetings in the role of a Portfolio Management Assistant (PMA)
- The candidates should be able to focus on producing financial plans, portfolio rebalancing per the investment policy statement, and preparing/updating Investment Policy Statements, rather than asset selection or analysis
- The candidates should be able to utilize strong tax and financial planning knowledge, along with portfolio management knowledge, in managing approximately 120 relationships within a small team
- The candidates should be able to proactively identify, investigate, and resolve client inquiries, providing the Investment Counsellor with recommendations for resolution of complex situations
- The candidates should be able to assist in the construction of customized investment strategies, proposals, and implement & monitor action plans for new funds and portfolio allocations
- The candidates should be able to enter trades as directed by the Investment Counsellor and work closely with the Private Client Associate to assist in the administration of client portfolios
- The candidates should be able to provide excellence in customer service by responding to all client inquiries, updating client files as required, and preparing client presentation material
- The candidates should be able to prepare meeting material in advance and attend client meetings, if requested
- The candidates should be able to draft correspondence and client newsletters, assist in preparing financial plans using RBC’s proprietary software, and respond to tax-related questions from accountants
- The candidates should be able to assist with securities trading as directed by the Investment Counsellor
- The candidates should be able to contribute to Business Development activities by developing and managing marketing lists, helping with new account presentations, and preparing new prospect proposals
- The candidates should be able to prepare client Investment Policy Statements from a template, model, monitor, and provide suggestions to rebalance the portfolios
- The candidates should be able to ensure compliance with client mandate and portfolio models
- The candidates should be able to assist the Investment Counsellor and the team with any additional ad hoc administrative duties as needed
