Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be physically fit to lift mail containers of up to 50 lb, push or pull boxes, sort mail, and stand for extended periods of time
- The candidates should be aware that the hours of service to the public will be determined by Canada Post and are subject to change under varying circumstances
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have a provincial equivalency and/or experience in business administration
- The candidates should have experience interacting with the public in a retail and service environment, including sales and cash transactions
- The candidates should have knowledge of regulations, methods, and procedures for processing mail and providing postal services
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to liaise with the local community regarding Canada Post services and products
- The candidates should be able to sell and promote postal products and services to the public and businesses
- The candidates should be able to administer the post office to meet retail hours of operation and delivery expectations
- The candidates should be able to maintain records and prepare reports and manage postal revenue, assets, and values
- The candidates should be able to assist with the effective management of mail delivery routes and supervise staff
- The candidates should be able to keep the post office neat and presentable, maintaining cleanliness in accordance with Canada Post’s standards
- The candidates should be able to operate the post office with due diligence and efficiency and sort mail to postal boxes
