Salary: $28.86 hourly for 30 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Guelph, ON
Shifts: Day, Evening, Early Morning, Morning
Supervision: 3-4 people

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as college, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 7 months to less than 1 year
Credentials: Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assess the children’s development in order to prepare a learning plan tailored to his needs, develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children, and maintain daycare equipment
  • The candidates should be able to perform storytelling, lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest, and encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
  • The candidates should be able to engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts, guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits, and observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor
  • The candidates should be able to establish guidelines for behaviour, attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children, and establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
  • The candidates should be able to plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children, and plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
