Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should be eligible for Registered Nurse registration with a Canadian registered nursing regulatory authority
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should showcase the ability to operate across multiple levels of care and within a transdisciplinary environment
  • The candidates should have exposure to plants and/or flowers and familiar with animals
  • The candidates should be cautious of latex products and be mindful of second-hand smoke from residents/clients
  • The candidates should be capable of heavy lifting, 50 lbs and over and comfortable with bending

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be equipped with recently applied knowledge of nursing theory, practices, and techniques, demonstrating the ability to provide professional care for residents by promoting their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being
  • The candidates should possess the ability to provide leadership, coaching, and training to members of the team
  • The candidates should demonstrate excellent critical thinking, relationship building, and conflict management skills
  • The candidates should have effective oral and written communication skills and exhibit excellent organizational skills
  • The candidates should have a strong understanding of working with various cultural backgrounds
  • The candidates should have TB screening, Vulnerable Sector RCMP security clearance, CPR Level C  (completed within last 2.5 years), Food Safe Level 1 , Transportation of Dangerous Goods (complete within last 18 months), WHMIS 2015, valid class 5 Drivers License, Home Care, and current registration with the Yukon Registered Nurses Association

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to deliver care management and liaison with the medical community, providing direct nursing care such as education and treatment related to medical conditions, and performing other nursing duties
  • The candidates should be able to provide resident-centered care in a way that creates a feeling of home and belonging for all who live in Yukon Continuing Care facilities through responsiveness to the uniqueness of each resident
  • The candidates should be able to use evidence-based practices, partnerships, and innovation
  • The candidates should be able to provide care to clients and families at the end of life, performing tasks such as administering medication and providing emotional support

Benefits:

  • The candidates will get a signing bonus of $7500 and yearly reimbursement for licensing fees
