Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of an accredited nursing education program
Experience: Candidates should have previous experience in Diagnostic imaging interventional and angiography procedures desired

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to wear a lead apron (15-20lbs) for prolonged periods of time and perform frequent, multiple patient transfers each shift
  • The candidate should be able to perform a considerable amount of on-call responsibilities on evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
  • The candidate should have current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP)
  • The candidate should complete the following free courses if they have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years: CRNA Medication Management
  • The candidate should have a minimum of five years current nursing experience, with at least three of those years in a Critical Care environment in a tertiary level setting
  • The candidate should have certification in IV therapy, Central Venous Catheter (CVC) Access and Care, Point of Care Test (POCT) blood glucose monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation
  • The candidate should have Operating Room, Emergency, Intensive Care Unit or Critical Care Unit (ICU or CCU) experience
  • The candidate should have experience in Hemodynamic monitoring, medication administration, and Patient-Controlled Analgesia (PCA) Pumps and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

  • The candidates should be able to provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being
  • The candidates should be able to utilize nursing processes through critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making
  • The candidates should be able to teach, counsel, and advocate on behalf of patients and their families
  • The candidates should be able to play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance
  • The candidates should be able to provide safe, quality patient and family-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS
