Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of an accredited nursing education program
Experience: Candidates should have Palliative Care experience
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be comfortable driving in all-weather/road conditions and willingness to work alone and/or with limited supervision
- The candidates should be willing to work days/evenings/weekends/stats/on-call and both short and long shifts and a positive approach both with clients and peers
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
- The candidates should have a current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
- The candidates should have good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills to work independently and as a team
- The candidates should have successful completion of the Supportive Pathways/P.I.E.C.E.S course, successful completion of the Non-Violent Crisis Intervention course and successful completion of the It’s Your Move course
- The candidates should have completed a Foot Care course or possess relevant experience and willing to change assignments as needed to service lodge and community clients
- The candidates should have a valid driver’s license and have a reliable vehicle with business insurance for work purposes

- The candidates should be able to provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations
- The candidates should be able to take necessary steps to ensure the safety and well-being of patients
- The candidates should be able to utilize nursing processes through critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making
- The candidates should be able to teach, counsel, and advocate on behalf of patients and their families
- The candidates should be able to play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance
- The candidates should be able to provide safe, quality patient and family-centered care
- The candidates should be able to reflect the shared vision and values of AHS
