Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of Mental Health Nursing certificate
Experience: Candidates should have 2+ years recent experience in Emergency Mental Health or Acute Assessment
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have demonstrated ability and skill in working independently and as part of an innovative interdisciplinary team
- The candidates should demonstrate the ability to prioritize and function effectively in a demanding and challenging environment
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be licensed as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario and CPR or Basic Rescuer certification
- The candidates should have a working knowledge of the Mental Health Act and community mental health resources and possess strong assessment skills
- The candidates should demonstrate proven excellence in communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and organizational skills
- The candidates should be highly skilled in the assessment and treatment of psychiatric disorders, including PTSD, suicide prevention, and the management of aggressive behavior and knowledge and experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing techniques
- The candidates should demonstrate a proven ability to assume leadership roles and current knowledge and experience specific to emergency mental health, crisis intervention, and concurrent disorders
