Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a Master’s degree in business administration
Experience: Candidates should have three years of experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be prepared to operate under a hybrid work model, requiring a minimum of two days of in-person attendance per week
  • The candidates should take advantage of our team’s modified working week arrangement, which includes one earned day off every two or three weeks

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field with a minimum of five years’ experience and maintain a valid class 5 driver’s license
  • The candidates should possess a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP), Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB), or Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation
  • The candidates should be prepared to submit a satisfactory criminal record check and current driver’s abstract before hire, at the cost of the Crown
  • The candidates should provide innovative solutions to risk exposures and remain current with all industry, legislative, and legal standards related to insurance and risk management
  • The candidates should keep abreast of trends and practices and have an in-depth knowledge of the Public Highways Act and the Insurance Act
  • The candidates should possess superb interpersonal and communication skills, exhibit a strong teamwork ethic, and show initiative
  • The candidates should demonstrate any relied-upon education and experience equivalencies in their application

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assist in the overall risk management and loss prevention strategy for the Province, as well as all Agencies, Boards, and Commissions we service
  • The candidates should be able to identify and assess strategic and operational risks to recommend loss protection programs to mitigate exposures
  • The candidates should be able to manage the insurance policies and self-insurance programs for the province, ensuring adequate limits and coverages, and liaising with insurance brokers on renewals and endorsements
  • The candidates should be able to review insurance certificates for coverage adequacy and advise on contractual wordings related to public tenders
  • The candidates should be able to research and provide trending analysis related to claims history, providing advice for ongoing risk mitigation
