Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be willing to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and be available to work both evening and day shifts
- The candidates should be in good physical condition and willing to conduct physical interventions
- The candidates should be able to work shift work, as the Safety Services department provides 24-hour coverage
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to deliver positive interactions with guests and co-workers
- The candidates should be able to pass a criminal record check and provide a driver’s abstract and possess a high degree of initiative and be able to work well without supervision
- The candidates should have computer literacy and be comfortable learning new software and using basic functions in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to ensure the public safety and well-being of all patrons, staff, and local residents at PMR
- The candidates should be able to provide First Aid to guests and staff, including the use of an AED and spinal injury management equipment and respond to alarms fire, nuisance, door and take appropriate action
- The candidates should be able to inspect alarms and security systems, identifying and rectifying deficiencies and monitor the CCTV system to ensure security and safety
- The candidates should be able to dispatch and liaise with emergency services, including police, fire, ambulance, search and rescue, and utility services and conduct accident and incident investigations and generate detailed reports
- The candidates should be able to perform foot and vehicle patrols of the property, including residences, parking garages, storage areas, and public access areas, to deter theft, vandalism, and disturbances while identifying safety concerns
- The candidates should be able to enforce community noise by-laws effectively and ensure that doors and entrances are locked and secure at all times
- The candidates should be able to issue parking violation notices and intervene in disturbances and potentially violent situations in bars, restaurants, and both private and public areas
- The candidates should be able to enforce PMR’s wildlife management program and respond to and resolve guest concerns while assisting other departments
