Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of one year of a community college program in Business, Accounting or other related field
Experience: Candidates should have minimum of 5 years of financial experience, including minimum 2 years of experience with letters of credit, site plan agreements and performance bonds

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be proficient in records management system, policies, and procedures
  • The candidates should be computer-literate in MS Office Suite in a Windows environment, using software packages including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and database applications such as MAP
  • The candidates should be familiar with the City’s computerized billing and financial system
  • The candidates should be knowledgeable about by-laws affecting securities
  • The candidates should be familiar with the Municipal Act
  • The candidates should have knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers
  • The candidates should have the ability to read and understand contracts/development agreements
  • The candidates should have the ability to analyze data and documents and make recommendations
  • The candidates should be able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
  • The candidates should be able to plan and prioritize workload, handle multiple tasks, and work effectively under pressure
  • The candidates should have the ability to work independently with a minimum of direction and supervision
  • The candidates should have the ability to manage potentially difficult situations, possess customer service skills, and maintain a professional demeanor
  • The candidates should have effective interpersonal skills, be supportive, non-judgmental, and team-oriented, and demonstrate initiative, thoroughness, and tact
  • The candidates should be able to organize workload to meet deadlines

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to understand and execute the mandate of the Revenue Service
  • The candidates should be able to record, maintain, and monitor financial securities, such as letters of credit, deposits, GICs, and other financial documents, provided to the city to secure performance under Development Agreements, Road Cut Permits, and Supply/Service contracts
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate with other city departments and external agencies to resolve disputes or problems related to financial securities
  • The candidates should be able to provide support in delivering superior customer service when handling securities inquiries, as they directly impact the City’s image and customer satisfaction levels
  • The candidates should be able to perform other related duties or specific tasks as assigned
