Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a four-year degree in Business, Project Management, Strategic Management, Portfolio Management, or Business Intelligence
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of five years of experience in progressively independent and responsible positions in strategic planning and portfolio management

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have some experience at a postsecondary educational organization
  • The candidates should have excellent interpersonal skills and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • The candidates should have well-developed verbal and writing skills to effectively communicate with colleagues and leadership
  • The candidates should have very effective organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • The candidates should have good knowledge of college programs, academic, administrative, and organizational structures, including the college decision-making process and a proven team player
  • The candidates should have advanced proficiency with SharePoint and MS Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Knowledge of WordPress, Visio, PowerBI, and Project (or equivalent)

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to collect and organize status updates on strategic initiatives from the Business Plan, including project health, progress, issues, and impact and organize metrics on key performance indicators of the College and develop data dashboards to show history and progress towards organizational targets
  • The candidates should be able to monitor the status of Operating Plan initiatives, including approval status, project health, progress, issues, and impact and monitor the status of requests for funds for Strategic Investment Priorities (SIP)
  • The candidates should be able to maintain an inventory of College strategic plans, including goals and objectives or outcomes and demonstrate the alignment between strategic activities (initiatives, performance) with strategic goals and objectives, and assess gaps requiring progress
  • The candidates should be able to provide project management support to strategic planning and strategy development activities across all phases of the project lifecycle, in conjunction with College partners and external consulting services and maintain project schedules for strategic planning activities and proactively identify delays in reaching project milestones
  • The candidates should be able to organize primary strategic engagement activities, including surveys, focus groups, and interviews by securing participation, facilitating engagement activities, and documenting and summarizing findings and provide communications to project stakeholders regarding the activities of the strategic planning exercise, including emails, memos, town halls, videos, and website and social media posts
  • The candidates should be able to collect primary and secondary strategic research on the post-secondary education environment on topics including positioning and the content of strategic plans and monitor strategic activities of colleges in the Ontario system, as well as nationally, and develop quarterly reports on activities of strategic importance to College leadership
  • The candidates should be able to develop benchmarking reports on key topics and data in post-secondary education and provide recommendations to College leadership and innovative initiatives being done at the collegiate level worldwide that may be implemented at the College to address strategic competitiveness and mitigate corporate risk
  • The candidates should be able to organize and maintain the Office website and stay up-to-date on content management system functionality and visually-appealing presentations and reports for internal and external audiences
  • The candidates should be able to develop and keep up-to-date process documentation for internal audiences and share the status of project portfolios and data dashboards with internal audiences
